What is ETA Kenya?
ETA Kenya is a semi-automated system designed to evaluate theeligibility for travellers wishing to visit Kenya. People wishing to visit the country will need to apply for an ETA before their departure. Please note that applications can be made from 27 December 2023This will enable future travellers to prepare their trip in advance. The new application platform will replace the previous eVitizen visa system, which will no longer be operational, but the e-visas already issued will remain in force in 2024.
Who should apply for ETA Kenya?
ETA is compulsory for all visitors from abroad travelling to Kenya, with the exception of citizens of East African Community (EAC)This includes Burundi, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Somalia. How does the ETA Kenya application process work?

- Download a scanned copy of your passport
- Upload a passport photo or take a selfie
- Fill in the ETA form
- Provide proof of accommodation during your stay
- Download proof of your means of transport

Once your application has been submitted, you will receive an email confirming receipt of your application and payment. After review, you will receive an email informing you whether your application has been approved or rejected. If your application is approved, simply print out the document in PDF format or download it to your mobile phone or via the application.
